You are gently set down in an expansive meadow area that has rolling hills and short, ankle-high grasses. Careful inspection of the meadows gives you the impression that the ground is full of denn holes! Curious, you kneel beside the closest one. Almost instantly, a pair of k'd burst from the underground tunnel and snarl at you rather nastily.
You YEEP and fall on your bum. The tiger-striped k'd approaches you now, metal paw gleaming in the sun.
"State your purpose," he says gruffly, ears back. You explain just why you're here and the k'd's expression softens just a little.
"I see. You are welcome here then, as long as you do not harm anyone here, especially the does. I am Wolfbane and this is Skyhunter," he says, motioning to the white male with wings. Skyhunter snorts at you once, then climbs up and over his denn enterance, walking away.
Once you're deemed okay to remain, you arrange yourself in the grass in an indian-style position. It's not long before a few k'd does pop out of surrounding denn tunnels, eyeing you curiously.
They are older k'd from the looks of it, their fur a bit less glossy and sparce in areas than Wolfbane or Skyhunter, but their eyes glint with mischief.
"What's this? What a funny looking thing you are," the smallest female says, skipping around you. "Who's this, Wolfbane?"
Wolfbane grins at the elderly k'd. "Just a visitor."
The female gives you a fangy smile. "Oh, so that's all? Darn. Was hoping for some excitement around here. I'm Pawcharmer, oldest k'd in this realm. Jade's surprised I'm still kickin' after all this time." She says this all with a humored tone. "Never the less, I pretty much teach all the newcomers the rules. This here is my best friend Starlighter," she says, nodding to the winged black doe. "The other two are Earthheater and Firewalker. One of the pairs of resident twins."
You receive nods of greeting from all assembled before they too amble off, reasons of hunger the primary excuse. It doesn't take long for another group to come forward, interested in you.
The super-fluffy female giggles and prances around you, nearly knocking you over as she goes.
"Hi! I'm Jewelbefriender! Can I pounce you?" she askes, excited. You o.o; and shake your head a little. She ;_;'s a little but scampers off, giggling again for some unknown reason. She's followed by a male with antelope markings and horns, who pounces her almost right away. They both roll down one of the slopes and out of sight, giggling insanely. The remained female eyes you benignly, her glowing yellow eyes focused on you.
"Forgive them. They are much too wired to sit and greet a visitor," she says in an odd, detached sort of way. "I am Peaksinger. The antelope-marked male is Plainsjumper. They don't usually even come over to see visitors. Too busy playing their games." Peaksinger smiles, which is distant and vague.
"If you don't mind, I'll just sit here and keep you company...and perhaps introduce the rest of the realm denn to you." She motions off towards a large hill where a group is currently gnawing on something.
Peaksinger speaks each k'd's name, introducing them as "Softdreamer, Soulseeker, Colorlessdancer, and Alabastorstrider" respectively. Every once in awhile, Peaksinger winces slightly and shifts uncomfortably. When you inquire why, she just shrugs it off.
"If you wish, you can follow me and I'll take you to the rest of the k'd," she says, changing the subject. You nod.
"Alright. Follow me," she says, getting to her feet and moving off towards one of the hills. You follow her.
